Art, Clay, and Murals!

Dear Parents,

Thank you all for taking the time last night to join us for curriculum night. I hope the experience presented the opportunity for you to see things through a child's lens as well as a teacher's. I want to say your participation was greatly appreciated.

Alomg with acclimating to our new environments, this week in school as most of you saw all the classes participated in painting the mural in the hallway. I was excited to see the a majority of our friends were very interested in expressing their creativity through paint. Knowing the children were so intrigued with this we will set up a mural project in our classroom and see where it goes.

This week in the classroom we also explored with clay. Some of our friends Yochai, Mason, and Shaya enjoyed working with the clay inside and used materials such as popsicle sticks and animals to manipulate the clay into different shapes. Our other friends like Morgan and Talya chose to work with the clay outside one day this week and used raw materials such as the leaves that had fallen from the trees and little twigs found on the ground to manipulate and construct. Not only do our friends have a way to express themselves creatively they are also refining small muscle movements. Through art activities like clay and wall murals, they are developing their fine motor skills needed for writing along with gross motor skills needed for stability and coordination.

We will continue to further explore mural paintings with our own next week. Also we will be starting dance on Wednesday morning.  Please check out the Facebook group for pictures of our week!

Shabbat Shalom,

Blue room Morahs
