Dear Families,
Here are some highlights of our week.

Sensory Exploration:
This week we had water trays in our sensory table. Our friends were invited to use different tools to transfer water to a variety of vessels.

Art Exploration:
Our friends had the opportunity paint and explore with water colors.

Gross Motor Learning
Our friends were challenged to carry a heavy jug of water along a rectangle taped to the carpet. This required coordination and focus!

Parsha/Fine Motor Opportunity
In this week's Parsha we discussed and found out that Rivka was to marry Yitzchock and received many gifts including jewelry.  The children enjoyed creating their own bracelets. When they were done stringing the beads we took the time to count how many each child put on their bracelet and what colors they chose.

Thanks for a great week. We wish you a peaceful Shabbos.

Dear Families,

This week has been a busy one! Here are some highlights of our week.

This week we discussed  the Parsha of Vayeira. We learned that Avraham and Sara helped other people who were traveling through the hot desert.  The tent they lived in had 4 doors and their doors would always be open so they could see all travelers coming from all directions.  Once their guests were fed and had water to drink, Avraham would tell them about the ways of Hashem.  One week Avraham was not feeling well. Suddenly, Hashem appeared to Avraham to help him feel better.  Although Avraham was grateful Hashem came, he wanted real guests to come so he could serve and teach them. Soon after this Avraham saw three travelers in the distance.  Not wanting to miss the opportunity, he ran out to welcome them in.   Once Avraham and Sara got them settled the travelers told them they were special messengers sent from Hashem.  They were there to heal Avraham and to tell them they were going to have a baby!  Sara laughed, being so old she didn't expect to have any babies.  One year later Avraham and Sara welcomed their baby boy, who they named Yitzchok, meaning laughter because he brought such joy to the couple.  After eight days Yitzchok was the first baby boy to have a bris milah, a mitzvah for Jewish boys ever since then.
This week's Parsha inspired many invitations to play.  We are taking advantage of this beautiful weather and had a tea party and built our very own tent outside!

Before his guests entered his tent, Avraham would wash their feet.  Our friends were invited to do the same.  This was a great sensory experience that the children really enjoyed.

Dramatic Play
In the dramatic play center, our friends were invited to take care of babies just like Sara cared for baby Yitzchok.  They learn how to change Baby's diaper and feed Baby when Baby was hungry, building their social emotional skills and empathy.

Block Center
Our friends constructed their very own ramp for their cars.

Fine Motor
Our friends use play dough with popsicle sticks and seashells

Outdoor Environment
Our friends were able to get up close and personal with this little lizard we found in the garden.

We wish you a restful Shabbat,

Dear Families,

Here some highlights of our week:

Fine Motor Practice
Our friends created shapes and line segments on our Geo Boards this week. We also created chains using different shape links. We went over over shapes and colors as we watched to see who could create the longest chain.

Dramatic Play

Our friends pretended to be doctors and took turns giving each other check ups. We learedn new words like Stethoscope, which is used to check our heartbeats and Otoscope, which is used to check our ears.

Math
Our friends were so interested in the size and weight of the rocks we found during our time outside. We sorted rocks by size and weight . We sorted all the rocks that felt light in one pile and the rocks that felt heavy in another.

Our friends love to Daven. They know it's a special time we talk to Hashem.

Our friends hunted for different colored leaves in our sensory table just in time for Autumn. We noticed that the leaves outside are still green and are not changing color yet.

We had such a great great week learning and exploring together.

Wishing you a peaceful Shabbat,
 Morah Felicia & Morah Shayna

Dear Parents,
Here are some highlights of our week:

We celebrated Luka's Birthday this week!  First we made the cake together.  We gathered all of the ingredients and then followed the recipe.   Ethan and Mika took turns adding in cake mix.  Then Morah Shayna checked the eggs before we added them, and finally Yosef helped stir and mix everything together.  We watched how all of the ingredients came together to create a tasty treat.

After the cake was made, it was time to celebrate. Luka turned 3 and got his very first haircut.

Morah asked Luca how he felt about his haircut. He said, "It will grow back. It's short like Ethan's."

We added water beads to our sensory table this week. Our friends had fun exploring as they scooped, poured, practiced taking turns and sharing their work with each other.

Daria-"It looks like popcorn."
Abigail-   "Do you want some coffee?  They feel yummy."
Ariel discovered water beads are so bouncy! She grabbed a handful, dropped them above her head, and watched them bounce out of the table.

During free exploration Bella laced beads.  She said, "Look Teacher, I made a Yo-yo."

Our friends explored glue and made collages in the art center. They also made sticker collages with a variety of stickers that were available this week.

First Avi, Beatrice, and Esther put glue on their papers and then chose different materials to stick down and create their own collages.

Marlowe creates an ABC sticker collage.  As he worked his fine motor skills, we went over letter recognition.

Thanks for a great week!  Wishing you a great Shabbos.

 Dear Parents,

Welcome back!  We hope your holidays were full of love, happiness, forgiveness, and set with new intentions.

During these very short weeks, our friends worked on a variety of puzzles, play dough, and started building roads and tracks for cars to ride on in the block center.  We hope to explore and extend our creations next week.

We also had visits from three new friends, Beatrice and Esther Walters, and Bella Pichette.  We will officially welcome our new friends next week. We are excited to get back into our routine and grow our blue room family.

As always, we wish you a wonderful Shabbos,

Morah Felicia and Morah Shayna
