 Dear Parents,

It has been such an amazing year here at CJP. It's been a year of exploration, learning, discovery, and growth. Together,
we watched and guided these little ones as they hit and accomplished milestones in their little lives from learning to
collaboratively work and play to toilet training to maintaining and handling big emotions. It has been an honor to work
with all of you and to be a part of each child's personal journey.  It's been proven that the first 5 years of a child's life are
the most important. 95% of the brain develops in these precious years, and I thank you all for choosing me
and CJP to help lay a solid foundation for your children.  I look forward to watch your children continue to grow and
flourish in the years to come. All of us at CJP can't wait to see you at our annual Moving Up Ceremony on
Thursday, May 27th beginning at 11am. Thank you for an incredible year.

                         All My Love,

Dear Parents,

We had a fun week introducing Shavuos/Spring into the classroom. Here are some highlights of the week.
Our friends even made their very own ice cream for Shavuos!  First our class joined the Peach room in the
Shul.  Morah Ora showed us the special spot the Torahs are kept.  She invited all of us to blow the Torah a
kiss!  Then Morah Chaya gathered all the materials we added milk, sugar, and vanilla into a small ziploc
bag closed it up then put it into a bigger bag full of ice and a special kind of salt that makes ice even colder
than what it already is.  Once the biggest bag of ice was sealed the fun and magic started to happen.  The
children shook their bags, danced and sang Hashem is Everywhere with their bags, and played catch with
their bags. We did this to help the milk freeze and turn into ice cream.  Our friends were mesmerized as
they watched the process of liquid turn to a solid right before their eyes. Our friends thought the ice cream
tasted yummy.

Our friends were also invited to make bird feeders for our birds at school and home.  We laced cheerios
onto pipe cleaner and when we were done we chose a tree outside to put hang for the birds.  Our friends
explored clay and glue this week creating their own flowers and their own Har Sinai. We discussed how
Hashem chose the most humble of mountains to give the Torah to Moshe and all of the Jewish people.
We wrapped up the week with a great Shabbos party where we shaped challah and sang Shabbat songs
all together.   Wishing you all a restful Shabbos and a happy Shavuos with your families.

 Dear Parents,

This week we spent a lot of time creating Mother's Day projects for all the special mommies here at CJP.  Our Blue room friends love and care for their special mommies and we wanted to showcase that the best way we could.   Our friends have also developed an interest in our block center and have created some unique and elaborate structures.   We continue to build upon our skills so we can collaborate and play together.   Here are some highlights of our week:

This week our friends explored different art mediums of paint such as watercolor, crayons, and acrylic paints as they created beautiful and personal canvases for our Mother's Day projects. One day our friends colored on their individual canvases with crayon then used watercolor paints to paint over their original work. They discovered that the crayon design resisted against the watercolor paint and showed through the paint!  Finally we used acrylic paint once the watercolor was dry to create texture.  Our friends used different techniques to apply their paint such as splattering and dabbing.  They all came out so beautifully, and we hope you enjoy your masterpieces.

Community

In honor of celebrating all of our classroom mother's, during snack time this week we discussed all of the wonderful things our mommies do for us.  Our mommies bathe us, kiss boo-boos, give us the best snuggles, feed us, and make sure that we are taken care of each and every day.  The question our friends were asked this week was:  "Is there anything special you want to say to your mommy?"

Chumi- I love you
JJ-  She buys me clothes and packs my lunch.
Shmuel-  I love my mommy.  Her give me a picture.
Abigail-  My mom is Star Fish.  She helps me and plays with me.
Luka- My mom is my mom.

We hope you enjoy your special day, Moms, because you deserve it.  I want to also thank you all for the love you expressed during Teacher Appreciation  Week. It was so thoughtful, and I'm so grateful to work with and guide your wonderful children.

As always wishing a restful Shabbos,
Morah Felicia
