Dear Parents,

We had a fun week introducing Shavuos/Spring into the classroom. Here are some highlights of the week.
Our friends even made their very own ice cream for Shavuos!  First our class joined the Peach room in the
Shul.  Morah Ora showed us the special spot the Torahs are kept.  She invited all of us to blow the Torah a
kiss!  Then Morah Chaya gathered all the materials we added milk, sugar, and vanilla into a small ziploc
bag closed it up then put it into a bigger bag full of ice and a special kind of salt that makes ice even colder
than what it already is.  Once the biggest bag of ice was sealed the fun and magic started to happen.  The
children shook their bags, danced and sang Hashem is Everywhere with their bags, and played catch with
their bags. We did this to help the milk freeze and turn into ice cream.  Our friends were mesmerized as
they watched the process of liquid turn to a solid right before their eyes. Our friends thought the ice cream
tasted yummy.

Our friends were also invited to make bird feeders for our birds at school and home.  We laced cheerios
onto pipe cleaner and when we were done we chose a tree outside to put hang for the birds.  Our friends
explored clay and glue this week creating their own flowers and their own Har Sinai. We discussed how
Hashem chose the most humble of mountains to give the Torah to Moshe and all of the Jewish people.
We wrapped up the week with a great Shabbos party where we shaped challah and sang Shabbat songs
all together.   Wishing you all a restful Shabbos and a happy Shavuos with your families.
