 Dear Parents,

This week we spent a lot of time creating Mother's Day projects for all the special mommies here at CJP.  Our Blue room friends love and care for their special mommies and we wanted to showcase that the best way we could.   Our friends have also developed an interest in our block center and have created some unique and elaborate structures.   We continue to build upon our skills so we can collaborate and play together.   Here are some highlights of our week:

This week our friends explored different art mediums of paint such as watercolor, crayons, and acrylic paints as they created beautiful and personal canvases for our Mother's Day projects. One day our friends colored on their individual canvases with crayon then used watercolor paints to paint over their original work. They discovered that the crayon design resisted against the watercolor paint and showed through the paint!  Finally we used acrylic paint once the watercolor was dry to create texture.  Our friends used different techniques to apply their paint such as splattering and dabbing.  They all came out so beautifully, and we hope you enjoy your masterpieces.

Community

In honor of celebrating all of our classroom mother's, during snack time this week we discussed all of the wonderful things our mommies do for us.  Our mommies bathe us, kiss boo-boos, give us the best snuggles, feed us, and make sure that we are taken care of each and every day.  The question our friends were asked this week was:  "Is there anything special you want to say to your mommy?"

Chumi- I love you
JJ-  She buys me clothes and packs my lunch.
Shmuel-  I love my mommy.  Her give me a picture.
Abigail-  My mom is Star Fish.  She helps me and plays with me.
Luka- My mom is my mom.

We hope you enjoy your special day, Moms, because you deserve it.  I want to also thank you all for the love you expressed during Teacher Appreciation  Week. It was so thoughtful, and I'm so grateful to work with and guide your wonderful children.

As always wishing a restful Shabbos,
Morah Felicia
