Dear Parents,
First off we would like to welcome our new families and welcome back all of our returning families! We are excited to start a brand new year and we thank you for trusting us to be with your precious children throughout the day. It's a privilege to nurture, guide, and have a positive influence on their growth and development as a whole human being. Our goal is to make each child feel safe and loved, nurture independence, and to spark that natural curiosity within. Here are some highlights:
The Routine
At the beginning of the day, we greet each child at the door as they say their "good-byes" to their loved ones. Then we continue to help each child put their belongings away in their designated spot, wash hands, sign in, and get to work. Establishing a routine so that children feel safe and comfortable to explore their own environment is the goal for this and next week.
Exploring the Classroom
This week our friends explored all the centers in the classroom. Our friends worked together to build towers with blocks and cook meals in the kitchen. They also worked individually exploring the art center and creating their own drawings with markers and crayons.
Our class also had so much fun exploring the outdoor environment. We had some opportunities to play and interact with the older children. Our friends seem really interested in filling up pots and pans to make "cakes" and "cupcakes."
We had a great first week! Morah Shayna and I are so excited to connect and build meaningful relationships with each of your children so they continue to grow and thrive in a rich learning environment this year and in years to come. We are looking forward to an amazing school year.
Next week we will introduce a Rosh Hashanah unit as well as continue to learn and establish the daily routine and jobs of the classroom. .
Wishing you a restful and peaceful Shabbos,
Morah Felicia and Morah Shayna
